Micky Hoogendijk & Adam Curry attended the Interplast US Annual Gala as Ambassadors for the Pascaud Foundation. The evening raised no less than $ 730.000 (!) for Interplast US, an organisation who send Plastic Surgeons to developing countries to assist people with severe injuries and children with cleft palates. The Pascaud Foundation is a Non-Profit organisation with similar objectives.  On behalf of the Pascaud Foundation, Mickey presented their first cheque at the annual Gala Evening in San Francisco.  All proceeds will be used to send doctors and surgeons to a number of developing countries.  Mickey and Adam were both honoured to be able to make this contribution towards the outstanding work these carried out by these doctors.

After the Event, Mickey said the following on her Blog:
"It really showed me how to fundraise in hard economic times such as these. No Showbiz, no TV celebrities, or big entertainment... just honest donors. Good honest people who are really interested. Beautiful stories from the people who work for Interplast. A plastic surgeon who felt a bit uncomfortable speaking while wearing a tuxedo for the first time. He looked great. What a breath of fresh air."

When a child is born in Africa with a cleft palate (or harelip), they’re called ‘Ajok’, meaning 'Cursed by God'. These poor children are hidden away from the outside world, not even allowed to attend school, and have no chance in life.  HELP US!

Mickey went on to say:
“So, hey, if you are thinking about plastic surgery, think again, and help these people instead of tightening your aging face. Aging is beautiful and if you need a little help to do it gracefully then just use the Pascaud products."
